Amelie Silfverstolpe founded Volontärbyrån in 2002 to help people who would like to volunteer to find suitable volunteer opportunities. Today this award-winning organization, now a part of the Swedish Forum for Volontary Social Work, has become an irreplaceable backbone of the non-profit sector in Sweden and has helped more than 25 000 people channel their community engagement to more than a 1 000 non-profits across the country. In recent years, Volontärbyrån´s corporate service arm organizes employee volunteer programs and activities for companies such as Accenture, AstraZeneca and Coca-Cola.

Amelie was a guest last spring in Washington DC of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor’s Leadership Program (IVLP), and will share with us her perspectives on volunteerism in the Sweden versus the US. She will be joined in the discussion following her presentation by Peter Bodor of Coca-Cola Sweden, which has successfully partnered with Volontärbyrån over several years to promote CSR and internal team-building.
