Reception with Ambassador Christine J. Toretti – Event Recap

On 9 February 2026, The American Club of Sweden had the honor of hosting a welcome reception with U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, Christine J. Toretti, bringing together members and invited guests for an evening of dialogue and fellowship.

As is longstanding tradition, the American Club of Sweden formally conferred upon Ambassador Toretti the honorary title of Honorary President of the American Club of Sweden Club for the duration of her service in Sweden. The title recognizes the central role of the U.S. Ambassador in fostering friendship and cooperation between our two countries, and reflects the Club’s more than 120‑year mission as a non‑partisan meeting place and bridge between Sweden and the United States. The program included remarks by Alexander Lange, President of the American Club of Sweden, remarks by Ambassador Toretti, and a brief conversation with Ambassador Toretti, led by Nicole Clifford, Member of the Board of the American Club of Sweden.

The evening concluded with informal mingling, offering American Club of Sweden members the opportunity to engage directly with Ambassador Toretti and one another in the spirit of dialogue, respect, and shared commitment to the Swedish‑American relationship.
