On Saturday, July 4th, the American Club of Sweden gathered for our annual Independence Day Picnic, which this year also marked the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence.
Held at Rosendals Wärdshus in Djurgården, the event welcomed more than 300 registered guests. Members, friends, families, and visitors came together to enjoy a memorable day of celebration.
The weather was on our side, providing a breezy, sunny day perfect for relaxing, meeting new people, enjoying games and sports, and simply spending time together. One of the day's highlights was our U.S. Quiz, with the winning team proudly calling themselves "Team Abraham Lincked-In." Guests traveled from Gothenburg, the United States, and several other countries, with some tourists even seeking out a place to celebrate the Fourth of July while visiting Sweden.
What makes this gathering especially meaningful is that it takes place here in Sweden. It celebrates the enduring friendship between the United States and Sweden and brings together people from many backgrounds to share stories, create new friendships, and strengthen old ones. We are fortunate to be part of this living connection between our two countries.

We were also delighted to welcome P4 Stockholm, Sveriges Radio, who visited the picnic to interview attendees and cover this year's 250th anniversary celebration. It was a pleasure to share the spirit of the day and the importance of the American community in Sweden. You can listen to the interview here: USA nationaldag firas på Djurgården i Stockholm.
As we celebrated America's past, we also celebrated the friendships that unite us today. Here's to continuing to build bridges across the Atlantic, welcoming one another with kindness, and strengthening the bonds that make our community so special. Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this milestone celebration so memorable. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
