It’s March, when spring arrives (hopefully) and we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women around the world through International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, a time to recognize progress toward equality and the leadership of women across society.

It is also the season when many in the United States, and increasingly in Sweden, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. What began as a celebration of Irish heritage grew in the United States into a broader tradition, reflecting the influence of Irish immigrants and the role immigrant communities have played in shaping American culture, much as Swedish migrants also helped shape the country through their own communities, traditions, and contributions.

In that spirit, we look forward to an evening of good conversation, new connections, and community. And in keeping with the St. Patrick’s Day mood, there may even be a little green beer in the mix.
